Jason Sanchez “I must fight the best to grow”

By Andy Rivera

Albuquerque’s Jason Sanchez (16-4 9 kos), is set to fight unbeaten Top Rank Prospect Bruce Carrington, this Saturday in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The fight will be held at the 126lb, featherweight limits.

Sanchez is no stranger to fighting tough competition, he has traveled to England where he took on Zelfa Barrett this past April, Sanchez dropped a 12 round decision. Sanchez in his lone title shot, again dropping a 12 round decision to champion Oscar Valdez. In both fights Sanchez took on short notice, this time around Sanchez feels him having a full camp to prepare will make the difference.

“This time around I was given a full camp and able to prepare with no rushing.“ said Sanchez. “When I was signed with Top Rank before, I was given only 4 weeks to fight Valdez, this time I was able to prepare right.“

When asked why he takes on tough challanges, in a time where many pad records against easy opponents, Sanchez feels he won’t improve and reach his ultimate goal of being a champion.

“I’m a very determined fighter, I believe I can beat anyone at 126lbs with a full camp and time to prepare. I want to grow and I must fight the best.

In facing the 9-0 Carrington, Sanchez knows he has his work cut out, he also knows he is there to fight the promoters up an coming prospect, yet is there to spoil the party.

”I know he is a tought fighter and their prospect. I’m prepared to come here and win and get back into title contention.”

Boxingnewmexico.com wishes Jason well in his quest.
