Donald Sanchez Promotions comes to the Embassy Suites in Albuquerque on Saturday, August 8, with a six-bout professional boxing card featuring New Mexico’s rising prospects, returning local favorites, and two professional debuts.

The evening will be headlined by Española’s Leanna Martinez (5-5), who faces Albuquerque’s Amanda Chavez (1-4-1) in a scheduled four-round bout at 111 pounds. Martinez has become one of New Mexico’s most active female professionals and looks to defend home-state bragging rights against Chavez in the featured event.

One of the night’s biggest storylines belongs to Albuquerque’s Kaleb Medina, who makes his highly anticipated professional debut against veteran John Herrera (4-24) of Roswell in a four-round lightweight bout at 135 pounds. While many fighters begin their professional careers against opponents with little or no experience, Medina opens his career against a seasoned veteran who has nearly 30 professional fights and has spent years testing up-and-coming prospects. It presents an early opportunity for Medina to showcase the skills that made him one of New Mexico’s top amateurs while proving he is ready for the professional ranks.

Undefeated Albuquerque flyweight Jorge Villarruel (3-0) returns to the ring looking to keep his perfect record intact when he faces Shaquan Wager (2-11) of Kalamazoo, Michigan, in a scheduled four-round bout at 115 pounds.

Springer’s Adain Sanchez begins his professional career against Albuquerque’s George Roybal (0-7) in a four-round welterweight contest at 147 pounds. Sanchez will be looking to make a memorable first impression in front of New Mexico boxing fans.

Albuquerque’s Javier Saenz (0-1) returns to action seeking his first professional victory when he takes on Isaac Anaya (2-1) of Amarillo, Texas, in a four-round bout at 127 pounds.

Also featured on the card is undefeated Aisieah Achesah (3-0), who now fights out of Chicago while proudly representing his Santa Fe, New Mexico roots. Achesah meets Enoch Adonai (2-19-1) of Lockport, New York, in a scheduled four-round contest at 181 pounds as he continues his climb through the professional ranks.

Donald Sanchez Promotions has built a reputation for developing New Mexico talent, and Saturday’s event continues that tradition. With a female main event, undefeated prospects, and the much-anticipated professional debut of Kaleb Medina, the August 8 card promises an entertaining night of boxing for fans at the Embassy Suites.
