Griego Rolls to 16-0 in Main Event, Announces Three-Year Zuffa Boxing Deal
Matthew Griego put an exclamation point on the night Saturday, stopping Wilner Soto at 1:32 of the second round in the main event and improving his professional record to a perfect 16-0.
Griego and Soto spent the opening two minutes feeling each other out before Griego began picking up the pace in the final minute of the opening round. Griego’s quicker punches began finding their mark as he established control.
The second round was a different story.
Griego made short work of Soto, attacking the body and then following with hard right hands to the head. The combination of body work and head shots eventually sent Soto to the canvas, prompting the referee to stop the contest at 1:32 of Round 2.
After the fight, Griego announced that he had signed a three-year deal with Zuffa Boxing. He also said he is looking forward to returning to the ring in January or February.
The victory keeps Griego undefeated at 16-0 and opens what could be an important next chapter in his career.
Aiseah Dominates McClain Over Six Rounds
Isaiah Aiseah turned in a dominant performance against Bryant McClain in their six-round light heavyweight bout, winning every round on the way to a unanimous decision.
Aiseah controlled the action throughout the fight, landing the harder and cleaner punches while keeping McClain on the defensive.
The punishment began to show late in the fight, with McClain suffering a cut under his left eye during the final two rounds.
Aiseah swept the scorecards to remain undefeated at 5-0.
Hernandez Stops Vega in Second
Agani Hernandez made an impressive middleweight debut, stopping Chris Vega in the second round.
Hernandez scored knockdowns with his left hand in both the first and second rounds before the referee stepped in and stopped the contest at 0:53 of Round 2.
It was a strong debut for Hernandez, who wasted little time making his presence felt in the division.
Medina Scores Quick Knockout
Caleb Medina needed just 1:04 to get the job done against Joseph Sally.
Medina dropped Sally with left hands to the head, earning a first-round knockout and improving his professional record to 2-0.
Lovato-Morales Goes to the Cards
Amanda Lovato and Randee Morales went the full eight rounds in a competitive contest that ended in a split decision.
Two judges scored the fight for Lovato, 78-74 and 80-72, while the third judge had Morales winning 78-74.
Lovato earned the split-decision victory after eight rounds.
Gutierrez Scores Two Knockdowns, Wins Decision
Sergio Gutierrez overcame an early setback against Santiago Gonzalez to earn a unanimous-decision victory.
Gonzalez won the opening round, but Gutierrez turned the fight around with effective body work. Gutierrez scored knockdowns in the third and fourth rounds with body shots, earning 10-8 rounds in both.
All three judges ultimately scored the fight for Gutierrez.
Garcia Takes Early Control Against Cross
Andres Garcia established control early against Brennin Cross, winning the first two rounds on the cards, 10-9 in each round.
Garcia used a strong jab and right hands to land the cleaner punches, while Cross pressed forward and swung wildly but was unable to match Garcia’s accuracy or power.
The early score after two rounds had Garcia ahead 20-18.
The fight card was promoted by Prime Time Promotions, headed by Jerry Padilla Jr. It marked the promotion’s first card, with Prime Time Promotions looking to put on more cards in 2027 as they continue to build their presence in New Mexico boxing.
