Cristian Cabral Fueled by Family, Fans Ahead of UBO Title Fight

Years of perseverance have led Albuquerque’s own Cristian “El Puma” Cabral to the biggest opportunity of his professional career.

This Friday night at Embassy Suites, Cabral (11-2-2, 5 KOs) will face undefeated Martin Sollano (5-0, 2 KOs) for the vacant UBO middleweight championship in the Legacy Promotions main event. Fighting in front of his hometown crowd, Cabral has the chance to capture the first professional title of his career.

One of the biggest changes in Cabral’s preparation has been his commitment to staying in the gym year-round. Rather than taking extended time off after each fight, he has remained active, a change he believes has made a significant difference in both his motivation and conditioning.

“I’ve been staying more busy and going to the gym immediately after each fight in the past year has made me more motivated to stay in the gym and to be more active,” said Cabral.

That consistency has helped Cabral enter training camp in fighting shape, allowing him to focus on sharpening his skills instead of rebuilding his conditioning.

Cabral has also benefited from working alongside stablemate Clinton Chavez, who will also compete on the Legacy Promotions card. The two have spent weeks sparring and pushing each other through training camp, helping one another prepare for fight night. While Cabral carries the responsibility of the co-main event, Chavez will look to make his own statement on the undercard, giving their gym an opportunity to showcase its talent on the same evening. Along with trainer Ruben Griego.

For Cabral, however, his motivation extends well beyond the championship belt.

“My fans motivate me. They make me want to get in there and just put on a good show for them. And I want to do that as well, along with doing everything for my family,” said Cabral.

Those closest to him have fueled his journey from the beginning, and Friday night’s title fight represents more than just another bout—it is the culmination of years of sacrifice, discipline, and dedication.

With a hometown crowd expected to fill Embassy Suites, Cabral hopes to reward the fans who have supported him throughout his career while bringing a professional championship back to Albuquerque. Standing across the ring will be the undefeated Sollano, who presents perhaps the toughest challenge of Cabral’s career.
